Overnight WSPR report, 07-08/01/2019

Interesting events overnight, as a sharp but weak disruption of the field passed by at around magnetic midnight (22-23UT locally).

As it happened, I was out in the earlier evening again comparing an elevated vertical quarter wave for 14MHz in an open field against my delta loop back home.  It was notable that the 20m band was almost closed by about 19:00UT.

Interestingly, after the band died completely here after 19:20UT, the band than sprang back to quite strong life two hours later, as the field disturbance occurred:


Yet again, HZ1SK appeared from nowhere alongside the disturbance, as did many other, highly unusual spots, such ZR6AEZ, and a few long-haul DX from the western US (K5, K6) and Canada (VA7)and, again, LU8DPV and PY2GN.   K6MCS, another regular anomalous spot, appeared in lock-step agreement with the disturbance:
HZ1SK anomaly.
